All this week on 1Xtra is Dubstep week – I get the chance to represent a genre that is currently DOING IT for me and for an increasing amount of people at the moment.

In order to know where we’re going we have to know where we’ve come from so tonight (Monday) has been all about ‘The Roots Of Dubstep’:

• Dubstep PIONEER Oris Jay hooked us up with an amazing dark garage/proto-dubstep mix..

• El-B & Noodles came into the studio to talk about the Groove Chronicles days & the history of Dubstep as they know it (shouts to Sarah Soulja!)

• And Radio 1′s First Lady of Dubstep Mary Anne Hobbs broke down how she fell in love with the genre and in turn introduced the world to it with her seminal Dubstep Warz
