Following the success of the pilot, series 1 of No Hats No Trainers starts today (Saturday 8th May) on BBC 2 at 1.35pm. Here’s what you need to know.

OVERVIEW…

This is not a standard, cookie cutter R&B and Rap show.

This is a credible half hour brimming with the best urban music from top 10 to underground in the loudest, biggest and best styles. We’re bringing back the excitement to music television, the unbridled joy of discovering an amazing show with killer music.

THE KEY ELEMENTS…

This is not a standard music show.

Hosted by me (well, my head), this is a unique storyboarded magazine show, exploring current urban culture.  With a desire to illuminate the very best of both underground and mainstream music from the UK and abroad, even though it’s aimed at the BBC Switch crowd (it goes out during the BBC Switch zone on BBC 2), No Hats No Trainers is bringing the freshness back for a half hour of real must watch television.

Cutting edge after effects and motion graphics move the viewer between stylish, distinctively shot artist interviews and features, (all shot in stunning high def on film lenses) and music videos with pop up video style text.

Intertwining this will be awesome graphic illustrated style and fashion guides, giving insight to anything from ‘Bristol’s Dubstep Scene’ to ‘Summer 2010’s hottest trainers’ plus original comedy skits creating an ever-changing visual mixtape.

EPISODE 1…

See Skepta at Snowbombing and behind the scenes at his ‘Rescue Me’ video shoot. Check Plan B at Maida Vale & Kid Sister in the nail bar. Noel Clarke & Adam Deacon talk their new fil “4,3,2,1″ while The Cuban Brothers teach us some dance moves and Skillet provides the comedy, skeen?
