Tonight on my show I announced that the Daily Dose of Dubstep feature that I do on my weekday BBC Radio 1Xtra show is due to grow to an entire hour. I’ll still be with you as usual with big tunes from across the broad spectrum from 7-9pm and then from 9, you have 1 hour of the finest in Dubstep – one of the most exciting, diverse and musically unique genres of recent times. When I started the Daily Dose in 2007, I would never had known that the genre which seduced me would do the same for so many other people but when you look at the musical landscape in 2011, it only seems right to do this.

At the moment, it’s usually just me behind the decks for the Daily Doses however from the 7th, I’ve curated a list of some of my current favourite DJ’s, Producers and Crews to represent the full landscape of the genre: from wobble, to filth, to deep bass & everything in between. I’ll take care of the hour every Thursday (so still need to be loaded with fresh dubs please producers!!) but the rotation will work like this:

Week 1
Monday – Starkey
Tuesday – The Others
Wednesday – Circus Records family including Flux Pavilion, Doctor P & Funtcase
Thursday – Me!

Week 2
Monday – Mensah
Tuesday – True Tiger
Wednesday – Deep Medi’s Quest
Thursday – Me

With the hour long Daily Dose, I look forward to using my show from 7-9pm to push forward some of the most exciting, cutting edge new music from every genre allowing the 9pm hour long Daily Dose to focus in on the Dubstep phenomenon I’ve been proud to play a part in showcasing on a daily basis on legal radio. As LTJ Bukem might say, it’s a logical progression!
